Asia-Pacific Regional Training Workshop on Human Settlement Indicators
The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in collaboration with United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is organizing the Asia-Pacific Regional Training Workshop on Human Settlement Indicators at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand from 26 to 29 March 2018.
The main objective of the regional workshop is to build the capacity of national statistical officers, ministry officials, city level decision-makers, urban experts and practitioners in urban data management, analysis, interpretation and use for decision-making at local and national levels.
Specifically, this workshop will:
1. Assess local and national capacities to collect, analyse and disseminate information including the availability of information.
2. Evaluate the supporting political, legal and institutional framework governing the production, dissemination and use of the information collected.
3. Increase understanding of the data requirements and help finalize the proposed methodology on Goal 11 spatial indicators, their disaggregation and dissemination.
