NEAMPAN Project Review Meeting on Strengthening the Subregional Cooperation through Knowledge Sharing on Sustainable Management of Marine Protected Areas
NEASPEC has implemented the project, “Strengthening the Subregional Cooperation through Knowledge Sharing on Sustainable Management of Marine Protected Areas”, which is the first study project of the North-East Asia Marine Protected Areas Network (NEAMPAN).
Focusing on management strategies and monitoring/assessment of the designated NEAMPAN sites, the project aims to increase knowledge and capacity in monitoring and assessing the status of MPAs and designing sustainable MPA management plans of the subregion, by collectively improving knowledge and practices among NEAMPAN sites.
This review meeting will provide an opportunity for the key project experts to align on their current understanding of the studies under the project thus far and review interim outcomes in preparation for the final report.
** NEAMPAN was launched in 2013 with aim to build a social or human network among MPAs as well as to share experiences and challenges in managing MPAs in the North-East Asia. As of April 2019, 12 NEAMPAN sites are designated.
