Workshop on Innovative Data Approaches to SDGs

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the Statistical Research Institute, Statistics Korea are hosting a Workshop on Innovative Data Approaches to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Incheon, Republic of Korea, from 31 May to 2 June, 2017. The Workshop will provide an opportunity for a diverse group of decision makers from member States in the Asia-Pacific region, ranging from statisticians to policy makers, to explore opportunities for utilizing big data and related data approaches in their jurisdictions to achieve SDGs. The Workshop presents some of the key technological innovations that have revolutionized the role of data in decision-making and expand on how these can be applied specifically to disaster management (SDG 1, 11, 13), education (SDG 4), and transportation (SDG 9, 11).
