Launch of UN Economic and Social Survey of Asia and the Pacific 2017
Monday, 1 May 2017
Facing a globalisation backlash, rising inequality and environmental degradation, what policy options do the developing economies of Asia and the Pacific have to sustain and increase their economic dynamism while improving the quality of growth?
The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) examines this challenge facing the region from a governance and fiscal policy perspective, and offers policy recommendations in its latest flagship publication Economic and Social Survey of Asia and the Pacific (Survey).
Every year, the Survey monitors regional progress, provides cutting-edge analysis and guides policy discussion on current and emerging socioeconomic issues and policy challenges to support inclusive and sustainable development in the region.
The 2017 Survey will be launched in Bangkok by Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of ESCAP.
